The Downeaster arrives/departs from North Station, located on the first floor of the TD Garden, home of the Boston Celtics and Bruins. North Station is within walking distance of the North End, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the Museum of Science, and other famous Boston attractions.

Transportation Connections

Getting around Boston is a breeze. Step off the Downeaster and connect in minutes with the MBTA’s Green and Orange Lines to go anywhere in the city.

Taxis

Taxis are available on site.  

Amtrak

Downeaster trains arrive at Boston’s North Station, and all other Amtrak services in Boston arrive/depart from South Station and Back Bay Station.

To connect to Amtrak trains to points North, West, or South, take the MBTA Orange Line from North Station to Back Bay Station. It takes approximately 15 minutes to make the connection. If you have a lot of luggage, you may wish to take a taxi between North Station and South Station.
