There are a lot of ways to save even more off the Downeaster's low fares.

Seniors Half Price: Senior passengers 62 and older are entitled to half-off the regular one-way coach fares. Not valid in business class or on trains 685/695. Valid I.D. is required when purchasing tickets and while traveling. Reference promotion code V543 when making a reservation. Not available for onboard sales.

Children Half Price: Up to two children ages 2-15 are eligible to receive a 50% discount with each full fare- paying adult (age 18+). If any additional child per adult will be traveling, reservations must be made for that child as an "Adult" and the full adult fare will be charged. One child (classified as an "infant") under the age of two may ride free with each full fare-paying adult (age 18+). Infants are not entitled to a seat. Additional children under age two are permitted with each adult traveler under the 50% discount policy. 

Disability/ Medicare Discount: Passengers with a disability and Medicare card holders are entitled to half-off the regular one-way coach fares. Not valid in business class or on trains 685/695. Valid I.D. and Medicare card is required when purchasing tickets and while traveling. Please note that this discount is not available through the internet or Quik-Trak kiosk; a reservation must be made at a staffed Amtrak station or by calling 1-800-USA-RAIL.

AAA Discount: Save 10% on advance purchases with AAA card.

Military: Active duty US Military personnel, their spouses and their dependents, are eligible to receive a 10% discount off most Amtrak rail fares.
